Orbis Singapore Charity Gala 2016
As part of the global launch of Orbis’ third generation Flying Eye Hospital (a custom converted cargo plane) – the world’s only mobile ophthalmic teaching hospital, Orbis Singapore hosted their inaugural charity gala dinner to raise funds and awareness for this noble cause of blindness prevention programmes in Asia.
Dr Lam Pin Min, Minister of State for Health joined three hundred guests at the Shangri-La Hotel Island Ballroom for an evening of unforgettable experiences – eating their first course blindfolded to experience what is like to be blind, unique performances and charity auction. The guests were also entertained by many unique performances throughout the evening.
Many of these guests were also hosted by the Orbis Flying Eye Hosptial staff during their visit to the MD-10-3-F plane which was here at Paya Lebar Airbase. The visit was an eye-opener as they were able to visit the state-of-art medical facilities while understanding the entire treatment procedures performed onboard.
